This is Bronte Big Eagle. At his young age, he has written and illustrated two children’s books in the Nakota Language called The Legend of the T. Rex’s Short Arms and The Legend of the Duck-Billed Dinosaur. The books were submissions for a Book Writing Contest hosted by Saskatchewan Indian Cultural Centre (SICC). These books are available on the SICC website to order. Bronte believes it is his life to learn the Nakota language, and he hopes that with the books he has written, anyone can learn at least some of the language. When Bronte shares his stories, he keeps up the tradition of story-telling and transferring knowledge and life lessons with the goal of reviving the Nakota language – not only for youth, but for everyone.
