The programs at the Niagara Regional Native Centre work together and Philip works to raise cultural awareness and foster wellbeing on a community and Individual level. Music is a tool that Philip uses to pass on cultural knowledge with regular drum nights. An exploration of colonial history is an important step Philip uses to empower individuals to self-discovery of who and where they come from. He also coordinates learning experiences for outside agencies eg. churches, community services, about Indigenous history, colonialism, residential schools. These services to outside agencies help to raise awareness in order to reduce racism.
Philip Davis is the Cultural Resource Coordinator for the Niagara Regional Native Centre and this program provides Indigenous educational services, that are focused on providing children, youth, family and community access to cultural knowledge. This is done through a variety of approaches with the aim to foster wellbeing and positive Indigenous Identity.
