Labrador Friendship Centre - Youth Video Project

NCCIE has partnered with the Labrador Friendship Centre in a youth video project. Each youth participating in the project decided what they wanted to share and talk about. Then they worked with project coordinators to film and produce each video. The participating youth are part of the Friendship Centre’s SHIELD (Sexual Health Information Exchange Labrador District) Project, which is a youth led and adult supported initiative encouraging positive sexual health, personal wellness and healthy relationships through Art, Culture, and Technology (ACT) empowerment opportunities and life experiences.

Each youth created a video to share aspects of his/her Innu or Inuit culture. There are six videos in all:

  • Jackson Obed (3:51 minutes)
  • Mckenzie Dyson (3:47 minutes)
  • Philip Snow (3:05 minutes)
  • Rebecca Blake (2:54 minutes)
  • Raine Hart (3:47 minutes)
  • Samantha Newman (3:06 minutes)

Note: By clicking on the video, the series will begin with the first one. If you'd like to select which video to view, either a) click on the "1/6" in the upper corner; a window should appear with the list of videos, from which you can make your selection; or b) click on 'copy link', open a new tab, press control-V to paste the link in the search field; hit enter. The YouTube page will open with all the videos appearing in the right-hand column, where you can make your selection.
