At Hiawatha First Nation, Ontario, Caleb Musgrave of Canadian Bushcraft teaches outdoor education for K-12 and post-secondary students with land-based tools and techniques. The on-the-land education program is focused on experiential learning practices with language, including food gathering, harvesting, making maple syrup, survival, canoe building and basket weaving, among other activities. Canadian Bushcraft ties traditional land-based teachings with a modern scientific understanding, strengthening an Indigenous perspective of the world.
