Dahti Tsetso is the Resource Management Coordinator at the Dehcho K’éhodi Stewardship & Guardianship Program in Liidlii Kue (Fort Simpson, Northwest Territories). The Stewardship & Guardianship Program incorporates traditional and land-based knowledge and embeds Dene laws within programs that involve Elders and Knowledge Holders mentoring youth. Language is central to their programs as are ecology and traditional knowledge when training and certifying new “guardians” in environmental monitoring practices that are meaningful to communities.
