Damien Lawrenchuck is a volunteer cultural and land-based learning instructor at Fox Lake School in Fox Lake Cree Nation, MB and in the school in Gillam, MB. Damien leads land-based programs that teach skills around harvesting plants and medicines, cooking, hunting and fishing. The activities are designed to help students identify with their culture and become more self-sufficient within their traditional territory, including living-off the land and becoming stewards of the land.
