Sherry Fowler discusses how cultural knowledge is an integral part of the program and curricula offered at the White Cloud Head Start Program. It is part of the Sherwood Elementary School, in Edmonton, Alberta. Kindergarten students and families are culturally supported to make a positive transition into the provincial school system. Cultural and language teachings are integrated seamlessly into the curriculum to support and promote pride in the students’ Indigenous heritage.
