Steven Baranyai of Serpent River First Nation, Ontario, discusses how his initiative, Madwejiwan, uses Indigenous music, instruments, and regalia as traditional and cultural knowledge teaching tools for Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth. The program has worked with schools all across the province. Not only does the program support traditional and cultural knowledge, it also is used as a platform to promote Indigenous identity, cultural teachings, and mental and emotional wellness.
