Peter Cardinal is Community Elder from the Tallcree First Nation and experienced attending Separate Day School. He shares his knowledge of the impact of going to a Day school and trying to learn English when his language was only Cree. He is an advocate for the importance of attending school to attain an education. He has been invited to the school in High Level in the capacity of a Community Elder and a Day school student to share this knowledge and experience as well as his passion of playing the fiddle. He stresses the importance of how education helps you in your life choices and thinks that the sharing he provides works towards healing. Peter explained that the younger students ask a few questions and are really interested in his fiddle playing. He really enjoys this opportunity to meet the students, share his stories and music.
