At the Prince Albert Elders' Gathering hosted by First Nations University of Canada (FNUniv) in March 2020, Florence Allen from Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation shared her knowledge about and sang a Healing Song and the Grandmother Song. She discusses how she came to know these songs and the power that songs have in healing and life transitions – an important reminder of our connection with the spirit world.
We respectfully acknowledge the original lands of the Indigenous Peoples of Treaty 4: Cree, Saulteaux, Nakota, Dakota, Lakota and Treaty 6: Cree, Saulteaux, Dene, and Dakota whose language and stories are shared by Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
